| A Note from Our President...
Spring has sprung and you know what that means.....it's membership drive time! FOUR people at last night's NACE event joined and received not only $100 off their membership, but the chapter is offering a great incentive to piggy-back that. If you join NACE in May you'll receive TWO free meetings, a welcome bag with gifts from many of our members and you'll get your name mentioned on our website, Facebook page and an introduction at the next meeting.

This July we'll be sending representatives to New Orleans for the Experience! Conference and we will be voting on a big change for the organization. The national board has proposed changing our name from the National Association of Catering Executives to the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF CATERING & EVENTS! What a great way to move forward and encompass all aspects of the industry! As members, we welcome any input you have on this important step within the organization. Feel free to forward any feedback to me direct at kate@creativecoverings.com so that we may speak on behalf of the Reno-Tahoe Chapter as we vote on this rebranding of NACE.
I wanted to extend a big thank you to all of the venue sponsors that have stepped up in the first part of the year so far. Eldorado, The Grove, Montreux and the Silver Legacy have put on extraordinary events and showed off some amazing catering departments! Up next we're at the conveniently located Tannenbaum, which is going to be an incredible meeting on Trends and Tricks for making your tablescapes gorgeous. Watch for that invite, as we're going to offer something special to our members and guests for this event....
Lastly, I want to mention our Event Professionals - our vendors - the ones that consistently support our chapter, show up every month and help us to make these events dazzling. From decor to photography to music and AV - I truly appreciate how you support Reno-Tahoe NACE and we are working diligently to help create referral lists that will include YOU as the go-to providers for the region. We want to continue this amazing network we've created with the best-of-the-best that the region has to offer. If there is something more you want to see from us, your local board, please let us know. As we grow this chapter we want to make sure we are creating opportunities for you to shine!

Hattie Reed
Art in Bloom Floral Design
With a strong passion for flowers, floral designer, Hattie Reed, set out to create a higher level of service in the wedding industry. This idea sprouted Art in Bloom. Since then Art in Bloom has received several design awards and has been featured on many blogs, including Style Me Pretty with a ‘Best Of 2011’ wedding. Art in Bloom’s noticeable wedding designs have been printed in many magazines such as Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, Ritz Carlton Weddings, Brides, Premier Bride and California Wedding Day. Hattie attributes the success of Art in Bloom to the many respected wedding professionals in the Tahoe region who recognize and appreciate the level of talent and service she brings to her events. She is honored to be a part of such wonderful associations as NACE and Tahoe Unveiled, that bring continued growth to a blossoming passion.
Not only does Hattie have an incredible amount of talent, she is truly a joy to work with and has contributed significantly to the Reno-Tahoe Chapter of NACE. Donating her time and her talent to help our wonderful events come alive with her beatutiful work. Thank you Hattie, for all that you do!
